Well, the real thing may be temporarily out of action, but the Royal Navy Historic Flight have just taken delivery of a brand new 1/72 scale Sea Fury die cast model from Sky Guardians depicting VR930 in her new colours.

Available via the RNHF Online Shop for £19.95 + P&P.

Sadly it looks like being being out action for quite a while. 🙁
Thats a real shame….
I must say what a great gesture by Tim Manna….Well done Kennett Aviation!

A company in the US called Fishers do a gorgeous 1/32 resin Sea Fury, they also do amongst the many decals G-FURY. Only problem is it’s well over £100.

Box art looks very nice, although it’s a shame they have to go for Carmichael’s aircraft yet again, thus perpetuating the myth that it was he alone that downed the MiG!
As for the Xtradecal sheets, I’m a bit worried they used the Warpaint book as reference – there are many glaring errors in these publications and certainly the 802 NAS-schemed Sea Fury drawing is entirely wrong (check out the ‘Q’ on the tail in this compared to what we produced for VR930). Be wary!

For those of you who prefer your 1/72 scale aircraft to be plastic, Trumpeter’s new Sea Fury kit is now available – the latest in a line of FAA aircraft in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales from this Chinese manufacturer.

On the strength of the Wyverns, a 1/48 Sea Fury cannot be too far away.
That’s actually a nice illustration to go with the model, looks well researched (empty cases, harsh light), pity about the usual ‘frozen’ prop..Hey Lee, check out those stencil details will ya? 🙂
