Hello, this is one of my first posts on this forum but I would like to share these photographs with everybody.
These were taken by my grandfather in 1952 at Leeds Bradford airport, at the time he was on an AOP squadron.
There are two different Beverleys and I would like it if anybody knows about these if they could share some information.
There is also this photo of Concorde in the early seventies.

Actually after reviewing these I think it might actually be 1956.

I would wager those pics were taken later, possibly 1962?!
The first order wasnt placed until 1952, and they entered service in early ’56. Also the XL serials would indicate later aircraft.

XL149 was actually scrapped on-site at RAF Finningley in spring 1977, prior to the Silver Jubilee Review of the RAF at the same base.
Only the cockpit was saved when Newark’s volunteers also rescued Shackleton WR977 from the blow torch during the same period.
XL149 went to Aeroventure in Doncaster a couple of years ago after the Duxford Aviation Society donated Newark the cockpit of Beverley XB251.

Actually, 149 is with AeroVenture in Doncaster stuck outside behind a Canberra cockpit section.

Interesting, thanks for posting those. Amazingly, XL149 was one of the last surviving Beverleys that was preserved in the RAF Finningley collection during the early ’80s, they finally got scrapped and the cockpit survives with the Newark Air Museum.
That Concorde shot was taken at Fairford.
