Going through our guest book today I noticed a much higher number of visitors from the British Isles this year than the previous two.
If you have visted us I would love to hear your thoughts. We have made major changes over the last year and are striving to create a better visitor experience…so candid thoughts are always a real plus.
Soon as I figure out how to post pics (yes I am a computer clot) I will try to put up some shots of the aircraft in progress…
– Stinson SR-9 CF-OAY, going to airworthy
– B-25, going to static 418 Squadron, aircraft 215 from 1957
– Lockheed Ventura going to airworthy, in progress by Ventura Memorial Flight
thanks

Thanks for the kind words Albert!
We now have a total of 38 aircraft on display or in restoration making us one of the larger Canadian Collection. The biggest artifact is of course our building, originally #2 Air Observers School she looks to be the last double wide double long BCATP hangar.
The credit to our growth goes to a great volunteer base and the suport of the many organizations that work in the facility with us.

Nice to hear you remember 418 Squadron…we are currently pushing a letter campaign to get 418 reactivated as a helicopter squadron here in Edmonton!
The Boston of coursre is on our acquisitionlist and we follow every lead to the bitter end. To this point we have located 2 but they are far beyond our means as a 7 figure price tag is alot for a not for profit musesum. But so far 418 has a number of it’s types represented in the Musseum
– Mosquito
– B-25
– T-33
– Expediter
and we work toward the rest
Thanks again gents

Nice to see 418 squadron being remembered, although I guess you would being where you are and 418 being the ‘City of Edmonton’ squadron.
They were the first unit based at my childhood local field at RAF Bradwell Bay, flying Bostons, not much chance of getting hold of one of those though.
Never been but if I ever get your way I’ll be sure to visit.

Hi Tom,
I visited you in April 1993 when you were just gathering aircraft from two collections and were not yet open to the public. I wrote an article on your plans and collection that was published in Aeroplane Monthly magazine. I am absolutely amazed and full of admiration at what you have achieved since then. There has certainly been no dust settling over the past 14 years and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone in the Edmonton area to visit your excellent achievements.
