French Flying Nord Noratlas

I am trying to find an address for the French Nord Noratlas if possible an e-mail address, also the contact for the French Flamants that are still flying in France doing the airshows.

There are two Flamants at Alencon. One is the transport variant and the other has the crew trainer layout with a glazed nose.

The aircraft are operated by the Amicale Alenconnaise des Avions Anciens which is a group of real aviation enthusiasts. The contact is their president, Alain Odolant, and the address is Aerodrome d’Alencon, 61000 Alencon, France.

They have a website and the URL is – http://www.a3a.org

Be prepared to contact them in English but using the “babel” facility via Google this should not be a problem. Likewise any response can be translated back into English using the same facility.

Cheers,

I don’t know if it is of any assistance, but there is a Noratlas at Nantes. However I don’t believe that it is airworthy. It used to live on the apron in front of the GA hangars but recently has been moved to the area of the old hangar on the far side of the runway where it keeps company with an ex Air France Constellation. Try going to the Nantes airport website (i’ll try to check this and post it later) and see if it has an e-mail link to enable you to ask about the ownership of the Noratlas. That might help you to further your enquiry.

The website address for Nantes airport is www/nantes.aeroport.fr

The one you’re probably looking for is F-AZVM, which was operated by Association Le Noratlas de Provence. The last mention of it in the Airliners.net database is June 2006 so there’s a fair chance that it’s still around and flying. I did have an email address once of someone who was associated with them, if noone else comes up with details I’ll do some digging later.
