That was a great laugh 😀
Damn i got boxes of scrap metal seemingly haunted, some even once were parts of aircrafts, or were going to be parts (but was butched in the process 😮 ).
Nevertheless, that piece don’t look AC to me. Holes are too close to the edge. Structure standard would have it about 1½ hole diameter from the edge 😉
Anyway, i got metal to sell now…

Sadly our forum member couldn’t afford an extra 5p to clinch this deal, it went for £1.04! At least he will be able to sleep at night without the curse of the past haunting him.:D (Or did another forumite bag it? )

I have it on the best authority that that piece was seen in the Bleaklow Arms in 1942.
😀
Aye and when it was complete and helping to hold a bottle of scotch with optic up above the bar.:D

The Defiant site IS reputed to be “haunted”, however, she mentions a memorial, which means it is allegedly from either the Lancaster on James’ Thorn, or the RB-29 on Higher Shelf Stones.
Though as I said in my previous post, it doesn’t look like aircraft to me.
As Phixer said, she should be able to “contact” the other side and ask them. 😀 😀

There are only 2 crash sites on Bleaklow
Defiant and Botha

If it’s from Bleaklow it is probably a fragment of the Defiant that came to grief there.

Clarification
Well someone has now bid.
The bidder is from SOUTH ESSEX, where are you from Jamie of SOUTHEND?:D
By: steve_p - 11th August 2007 at 17:05
so who’s gonna bite the bullet and buy it then ?
Are you kidding? The person who found it has now departed this mortal coil, and the current owner has trebled in size and become afflicted with mental problems. It sounds to me like the curse of the Pharaohs.
Wonder if its from an Egyptian Stirling?
Best wishes

I asked her are there any numbers stamped on it, and if she knew which crash site it was from, as there are, IIRC, 6 aircraft that came to grief on Bleaklow Hill, she replied:
“Hi as far as I am aware the wreckage was from near the stone memorial at the top of bleaklow, this I can not verify as the relative that left the piece is no longer with us,..
Personally, it doesn’t look like aircraft to me…
ROTFL
You would think that with her powers this lady would be able to reach across the divide and ask the departed. These folk never realise how they give themselves away.
She should be directed to the Richard Dawkins site:
http://richarddawkins.net/
She should also be invited to watch his Channel 4 programme this next Monday evening which will be investigating the claims of New Agers.

Looks an awful lot like a corner from a GM transmission pan gasket.
Size 30? Allow me to quote the immortal Stuart MacKenzie from “So I Married An Axe Murderer”… “That’s a virtual planetoid! She’s got her own weather system!” 😮 😮 😮
go cry yourself to sleep on your gargantuan pillow…..
