Canberra TT18

.. well now that this thread has attracted Bex’s attention….:D

I am looking for plans / photographs of the forward fuselage of an in-service Canberra TT18 to enable us to replicate the rear view mirrors as fitted to this mark. They were fitted immediately forward of the rear crew observation windows, presumably for the drogue operator to see what was happening behind the aircraft.

Alturnatively, if you know where there are a pair of said mirrors…., oh and a pair of drogue units…. and the lamps located on the engine cowls to illuminate the drogues…. and…..

thanks in advance

Apologies for the thread jacking, but what is the current status of TT18 WK126? Last heard of being for sale on that auction site.Ta.

Lindy
Not all TT.18s were fitted with rear view mirrors. Yours definitely was though. The pic below shows WJ639 at RAF St Mawgan with 7 Sqn. Stbd mirror housing can be clearly seen. Also have a photo of 639 (in camo) at a very rainy Finningly in the 80s.

By the way, I prefer this ‘older’ FRADU-type colour scheme to the grey/green camo of later days.

theyre of the pods, but as of yet I cant find any of the mirrors, if I do I’ll drop em in here. Nice to know Im getting predictable, anyone would think I like Cranberrys 😀 Bex

Hmm…. no mirrors fitted to that one. Does anyone know if they were only fitted to early aircraft? We have the rivet holes in ours (I’ll post a pic later when I get home…)

And yes Bex, you are predictable…… 😀 😮
