I understand that a lot of wartime Ansons had the Oxford cowls fitted to them, which explains this.
Interesting to see it in D Day stripes indeed.

No this is a period shot from circa late ’44, from my uncle’s album.
He was posted to 83 Group Support Unit at Dunsfold on operational rest from Typhoons.
83 GSU was responsible, among other thinks, for collecting and shuttling fighter aircraft to the European main land. I think the Anson was the taxi.
