SEA PRINCE WP321 UPDATE

this is an update of our restoration of the Sea Prince WP321, over the last week we removed the spinners cleaned them and rubbed them down ready for paint, also we tested the flaps which worked ok.we have now repainted the spinners and refitted them, see the attached pictures. if any one out
there could help with the aircraft seat cushions it would be a great help.

Bournemouth aviation museum

Is BAM moving there aswel? And thank you for the infomation aswel Nick:cool:

James

Yes the museum will have to move.it’s going to be a major job but it should
make a great story for the magazines. we have had offers from other airport
users with help, as soon as we find out more it will post it on the site.

Well, the latest news is that it will not be lifted over the fence now.
as you may or may not know the museum is going to have to move
to make way for a carpark.Early in the new year when this move takes place
we should be able to drag her out.we are going to be on the north side of the
airport behind FRA. we will be sharing with De Havillands.

Saw Andrew last Saturday at the Heathrow Aviation Enthusiasts’ Fair. Couldn’t catch him to get an update, so glad to see things are starting to happen. Well done all…Alvis would be proud of you!;)

Due to forthcoming move of DeHavillands and the Museum etc caused by the airports expansion plans – see thread elsewhere – the “lift out” is now not required as the obstacles to a “tow out” will be removed. Should all happen in the next few months. Once we get her on the hard will be a full time effort to have her back in skies fo 2008 season along with G-BNPH.

This would be the one at Bournemouth…

Flyboy, would you be the talented painter who was rollering the red on the nose when the Sea Vixen was out showing off her new colours a few months ago?

If so, Hi!, you were spotted. If not, your mate was doing an alright job!

John

hi john, if you mean the red on the sea prince i am the quilty party.

SEA PRINCE WP321 at Bournemouth

Thanks for the replys, if any one is going to coldrose on 1st august we will be there with the pembroke and a stall to help the cause.come over and see all
the latest pictures inside and out.also have a look round the pembroke. if we could get spare seat cushions that would be good, if not we may have to get new ones made.

Nice work Nick.

When you say help out with seat cushions are you looking for replacements or a pattern in order to make new ones? I must confess to being a bit ignorant when it comes to Pembroke / Sea Prince interiors but if they are the same then I know Classic Flight have a spare airframe and also that XL954 is due to have some interior care soon so it maybe possible to make one available for use as a pattern or perhaps join together to get some new ones made at a better price? If you like I can bring this up at Coventry on Saturday, let me know the position.
