I don’t believe it is either, Peter.
I may be wrong, but I believe the Fescalised portions of 426’s jacks and Liquid Springs are liberally coated in Mobilgrease 22, to prevent such corrosion.

Spot on that man, a nice coating of 22, its a quick simple way to prevent corrosion it may not look pretty but I would rather that than have to treat any corrosion
rember fokes that there will be another open day on Sunday 2nd September please come down, we were treated to a flypast of the Essex Police EC135 and a Fennic sadly both took us by supprize the Fennic was superb low fast and banking…

Tidy looking flight deck
Nice photos of 426! Looks like you had great weather to do some work to her. On the main gear, is the rusty section a metal sleeve or is that rust on the chrome strut?

Its a fund raising day to carry out major renovation work to bring the aircraft up to a tip top condition go along and pay them a visit for the full details you will also be able to see the restoration work in process with two of the rear seats removed.
there was an interview on the radio at 1:00pm about it.

At least they stayed away from “save or scrap” tag line. But I think it’s been used before somewhere……………….
