Hi all , just finished reading a very interesting book on the discovery of the Ark Royal sunk by a uboat off Gibraltar in 1941 , what i found even more interesting are the pics of the Fairey Fulmars and Swordfish remains that litter the seabed around the ark , does anyone have or have seen any more pics of these a/c would like to see them out of interest , in the book there is refrence to at least five fulmars and pics of two swordfish.
The book is called Ark Royal by Mike Rossiter , is published by Corgi Books , it is well worth a read.
As we have seen with the Blackburn Skua found in Norway , deep sea salvage of aircraft is possible , but very expensive , but who knows maybe one day.
cheers dave
