Hi tona,
I have a few of them but two told by my Grandfather he was in the Royal Warwick’s when they where in africa/Italy campaign he and his Pals witnessed an Me-109 belly land, witnessed a spitfire land when they got to the aircraft the pilot was dead, they had to guard some German prisoners then load them into wagons Inc. officers, there one officer who refused to sit with the enlisted men and wouldn’t get in so my Grandfathers mate a big jock told him to get in he still refused which earn’t him a kick up the backside and physically forced in with all the expletives that would accompany the action.
When at Dunkirk he was waiting with his mate and a young lad when it came to there turn to line up they tapped the young lad who they thought was asleep but the shock of all that was happening had obviously taken there toll my Grandfather tolled me that he just looked like he was asleep no expression on his face, his watch was still ticking etc.etc. and on the way back he was in some sort of fuel tanker that had been emptied he said he stank of fuel but it was packed.
Got a couple more if your interested PM me.
