Hindenburg
One easy explanation; politics and personalities. There has been much discussion here about other such situations with other museums. An all too common a thread and here is not the place to discuss the tedious detail of that. However; been there, done that, got the tee-shirt. And the scars! Am delighted to have been the person who kicked the whole idea off, and to have been more than instrumental in getting it where it is today. Less delighted how some were apallingly treated by those who came along later when all the hard work had been done, our private money spent (and risked!) and all the tears shed. However, am not in the slightest bitter and life has moved on in other positive directions and whilst I mean no slight (I wish the place well!) I would no longer want to be involved with that museum or any other.
Back to the Spitfire replica; does anyone know?
