Hmmm… enormous profiles orders? Doesn’t sound like “just an amateur” to me! 😉
😮 well, I did some profiles for my parents’ latest book ( description here ) like this one :

…and now I am working on new profiles for their next book… hence a big profiles order…:o
I can only do these pics during my free time, as it is not my job.
You know, french affair…
Kind regards,
Macwan.

I had a glance at ehangar, big and interesting website ! Maybe one day I’ll go there, but not yet… too busy and enormous profiles orders, and I am just an amateur…:)

Thank you for your kind description of eHangar.com; we have all kinds of aviation artists there 🙂

Hi all ! 🙂
Thank you for such kind attentions, also I’ll do my best to improve these pics…;)
I am sorry for this late reply, I was very busy and two months ago my computer bugged -deadly virus attack !
I’ve only re-installed everything past week. Now I have to install my saved profiles.

Very nice profiles. Love the weathering and coloration.
Might want to take a second look at the landing gear leg. Looks a bit thin in diameter and most photos I have seen, the exposed hydraulic slip area(the shiny part) is a bit lower on the leg, behind the wheel, and a little triangular linkage bit that attaches just above that joint is missing.

eHangar.com Aviation Art Forum
Hi Lindy’s Lad
Actually, there is already a very established and actively-participated aviation art forum at eHangar.com, which is the main internet portal for aviation art enthusiasts, collectors, aviation artists, dealers and publishers. 🙂
Of course, if the mods here wish to create a section for aviation art lovers, that would be great too as there’s always room for another such forum, as there are probably forum members here who are not yet aware of eHangar.com.
I would also like to invite Macwan to upload his aircraft profiles to the eHangar.com Aviation Art Directory if they are available for sale as prints. The directory lists thousands of aviation art searchable by aircraft type, era, mark, air force, personality and squadron and other categories.
It’s the *ahem* first and most comprehensive aviation art directory in the world. It is also the most independent since the site is not tied to any particular artist or publisher, and so lists works by all aviation artists.
Sorry, I don’t mean to hijack Macwan’s thread here, but since the question was raised, I just had to mention this 🙂
I am looking forward to seeing more of Macwan’s very detailed profiles here.

Lobby for Aviation Art forum
Truely amazing. You could not get that level of detail with a brush unless it was close to 1:1 scale….
So moderators, how about it? An aviation art forum? There would have to be a big sign saying ‘Do not copy these images cos they are copyright to the artist’, or make sure all pictures uploaded have a watermark…. just a thought!

Wowww
Nice texturing, I particularly like the 1st one 😎
By: eHangar - 18th July 2007 at 22:49
Macwan, these profiles are beautiful and look very painstakingly done!
Are you offering them for sale?
Will you be coming up with profiles of other aircraft; if so, which?
By: Macwan - 24th June 2007 at 14:23
Thank you gents,
yes I use some brushes but, quite few finally. Also I’ve add a texture layer top of layer hierarchy and I’ve blured som camo contours…
Here is a preview of the layers palette :
Of course it would be different with a clean machine, more light layers and no weathering…
I should try civil aviation profile one day…
Kind Regards,:)

hi Macwan,
very nice profiles, i also use PSP7 i have PSP10 and Adobe ilustrator, but i prefer using my good old 7, i must try doing them in 300dpi, at the moment i use 72dpi, just never thought of changing it:o
not sure whether i like the worn look. but then again when i was modelling i alway built them to museum finish.

Awstruck..
Superb,simply superb!!! Love the weathering job.:D
I can see a bright future for you indeed.
By: Fouga23 - 24th June 2007 at 10:23
Looks great! I wonder, what are you using to give the paint texture in photoshop? Some brushes?
By: Macwan - 24th June 2007 at 01:43
Thank you, 🙂
-Lindy’s Lad,
these profiles have been done in PaintShop 7.0. Their size is 3422X1291pix, so among 30cmX11cm using 300ppi resolution.
Here is an extract of a scale 1 profile :
Also, a graphics dedicated room would be nice, depending on content updates of course. I have already posted some profiles at http://www.simmerspaintshop.com (profile section) and http://aviation-illustree.forumactif.com/index.htm (french air art galleries), and that would be nice here too. 🙂
I’ll add more Kittyhawk profiles… when they are done…:D
Kind Regards,
Macwan.

Very good. How big are the originals, and what is your medium? Is there a thread on here for aviation artists? If not, its about time there was. (See also, my avatar – part of a much bigger painting)…

Excellent profiles. Thanks very much.
