N5719 Retro Track & Air, Cambridge
N5903 The Fighter Collection
N5914 Jet Age Museum

Plus substantial parts recovered from N5628, N5632, N5638, N5647, N5693, N5704, N5705, N5905 and N5907. It would appear that at least 16 ex-263 Squadron Gladiators have been recovered and identified. Have anymore been discovered?

This list was published in that other well known monthly mag AM.

As this list in over 2 years old, does anyone know the progress of some of these rebuilds. Anyone hav ephotos? TFCs Gladiator is well publicised and I’ve seen a photo of N5518s fuselage at the FAA Museum.

Regards,

Alex

Gladiator N5641 HE-B was bought from a scrap merchant by a lay preacher and was stored for many years. It was then donated to RNoAF during the 70s and restored. It was displayed at Gardermoen before it was moved to Bodø

We were in Oslo in January, and indeed, they are totally different places. The Air Museum is out at the airport 20 miles out of town and the armed forces museum is right next to the harbor downtown. Watch for scheduling, the air museum is closed A LOT in the winter time……I missed it!!!:( But did make the Bodo Museum-Very highly recomended (but very dimly lit, at least in winter time)

Hmmm…The air museum at Gardermoen is a fine museum and they having different activities there. The museum is usally closed at mondays. Some weeks ago Eric “Winkle” Brown had a lecture there. Warbirds of Norway having a video evening and Fly in later this year.

I hope you will be more lucky next time you wisit Oslo and Gardermoen air museum.I can be helpful with informations since I just become a member there.

Hi Cees,

From what I understand the Armed Forces Museum, Oslo is not part of Gardermoen. I believe Gardermoen is the name for the airport/air base. I’m sure some of out Norwegian collegues will correct me on that.

I’ve made a couple of enquiries into this. So much Gladiators or parts of Gladiators have been recovered from Norway it’s very difficult trying to keep track of them all.

Alex,

With the Armed Forces Museum, Oslo, do you mean Gardermoen?
If not, there is a tailsection and a set of wings on display there.
