Hi DAVE,
Apologies for not replying earlier !
I saw you standing with the passengers and I gave you a wave, what did the departure look like ?
It took approx 10 mins to get to Kemble, that was with one engine shut down to save juice….
On nearing Kemble, Dan restarted it and I am sure opened the taps a bit, so what ever we saved on the way there was probably used up !
We shot along the runway, did a few wing waves, pulled up up in a ,I would guess, 3 g climb and straight into a derry turn for downwind to land.Needless to say the video camera I was using to record the flight ended up in my lap during the derry turn,I have always wanted to do one of those,If only he had warned me first:eek:
After a very smooth landing, we taxied in past the crowd line, waving to all and sundry, always wanted to that as well!
Parked up next to Delta’s fleet and shutdown.
What a way to arrive.:D
I am glad to say I kept my breakfast down………..
I then spent the day watching the coming and goings of the aircraft on the jet pan and looking after the Meteor and Venom ,that Dan also displayed, this was something I have wanted to do since I became a volunteer three years ago and I cannot wait to do it again and if I get there in something interesting then that is a bonus (I can’t wait for the Vampire and Canberra to be servicable again:diablo: ).
All in all a fantastic day.
Thanks to all at the Classic Flight for the oppourtunity and the Delta guys for their hospitality.
Cheers, Alan

Gave you a wave Alan but I was just getting back from a hanger tour so no camera I’m afraid. Hope you kept your breakfast on arrival at Kemble. 😉

A change of circumstances means Classic Flight will now be doing 2 trips in the Rapide and Prentice, so no room for me! I may see you Alan if I decided to drive down after booking everybody in. 🙂

Should be a good event – but can anyone confirm if a Martin Baker Meteor will be in the static? If so which example of the two they use – will the black one come out to play again (I see it was at Northolt last weeken)? Inclusion of one as static is predicted in AI magazine and by certain airshow websites, but the Kemble Air Day website makes no mention – though that may not be significant as their publicity seems to avoid any useful mention of the static, not even the E28/39 FSM.

Evening Alan. Despite having come down with a mega cold I should be flying in on the second Twin Pinn flight having booked in all our lovely customers. See you Sunday. 🙂
