We are still cleaning up details on NA 337 and now we would like to construct a replica starter trolley to display alongside the Halifax.
Does anyone have, or know of a source, of sufficient details for us to be able to replicate an authentic looking starter trolley?
From WW II era pics. it seems the trolley accs. then had a gas powered generator mounted on the rear of the trolley. From my days in the RAF they did not have a generator mounted on them and we used to tow them all to the hangar and re-charge them overnight, I guess this would not be a good idea during the war years to get ‘all the eggs in one basket’.
Photos, drawings or manuals, any and all would be a help. If they were used in Canada, none seem to have survived!
There is a reference in the Halifax Maintenance Manual of a AP 2306H, Starter Trolley.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Sorry Cees, I do have one but without the top cover, not sure if anyone would be interested now.

The old starter trolleys were still in use until relatively recently. They used to litter the RAF bases. I am sure that you would be able to buy one over here, and have it shipped over.
