Vulcan at Chalgrove ?

Did Martin Baker ever have a Vulcan (or nose section of) at Chalgrove for trials work ? If so, which one ?

Cheers…..

In respect of the trials of the rearfacing seat in the Valiant there is an excellent bit about it in ‘The Man In The Hot Seat’ by Doddy Hay who was their human guinea pig for many years.

Knew I had just seen that somewhere!

Not that particular photo, it was either Ken Delves & others or Roland Beamonts Canberra’s books. It was one of those two, but Ive read so much on Cranberry’s my poor ickle brain cell is overloaded LoL. Thanks for the link though, some pretty excellent photos taken there. Bex

I may be wrong here (not for the first time wont be the last LoL) but Im sure I read somewhere that Martin Bakers had a modified Meteor T7 with the back seat replaced with the test ejection seat with no rear canopy fitted. Also, Ive got a feeling Albert Ross may have a photo, but if Im wrong, Albert Im sorry for putting you on th spot 😀 Bex

In the book Engineering for life, the story of Martin Baker there is no mention of a Vulcan but there is a Valiant that was used for trials of rearward facing seats in 1960 to 1961 however it doesn’t mention the a/c serial nos
