This is more a news story than a photographic thread, so I believe it sits better in the Historic Aviation posts than hidden amoung airshow pictures. The Grace Spitfire is supported in a unique way, and those that offer there annual support gather for an annual gathering event. A new location was chosen for the Grace Spitfireโs tenth anniversary gathering, as Carolyn and supporters converged on Old Warden for a fantastic day in the sunshine.
The atmosphere was superb, and the facilities laid on by the Old Warden team, were excellent.
It was so nice to see so many faces, and to photograph ML407 over the Bedfordshire countryside with the sun on her wings.
Thank you to Carolyn and her Family for a great day. Thanks to Steve James and Daisy for their help in setting up the group photo.
And thanks to Rory from the Shuttleworth Collection for holding the ladder! (And all his support during the day).
Visit http://www.ml407.co.uk to find out details on how to join this group, and you could well be at next years gathering.
On with the pictures.
An overnight stay with some very old company.

The supporters enjoyed some brilliant facilities

And a great cake!

And the two stars, ML407 and Carolyn

My word, what a lovely event that looks like! ๐
You can’t beat em, so you’d better join em. Worth every penny.
It really was a great day.

I’m as guilty as the rest of taking ML407 and its owner for granted.
Sometimes, when I see it flying at a show, the familiarity leads me to forget the ongoing struggle, the heartbreaks and setbacks that the gutsy lady has gone through to keep her husband’s aircraft flying for all this time.
Respect.
