Anyone noticed the RAF Horsa Mk.I at 34m10s in?

Was being piloted by Bert Harget and Brian Vincent who were on a cross-country from Brize Norton when their tug developed engine problems and they had to put down quick.

Took the nearest airfield (turned out to be Bassingbourne) opened the doors and were greeted by some very excited American’s who a) had never seen a glider before and b) were expecting the King at any minute.

So they just pushed it to the end of the line, Bert and Brian stood to attention as the King went past and then had to explain to him just what they were doing there when he did the inspection. 😀
