Biggin Hill Kent Spitfire/ Warbirds of Great Britain question.

It was mentioned at Biggin Hill last weekend that TA805 is the first Spitfire to be based at Biggin Hill since 1957 and i was wondering if this is so.
When i was growing up i remember seeing various warbirds owned by Doug Arnolds Warbirds of Great Britain collection and was fairly sure he operated at least one Spifire from there, I just wondered if anyone could confirm this for me, And what else was based there during this time, I was only 15 when Doug Arnold died so can not be sure.

Cant remember the year but it was the one that his P-38 Miss Behavin’ starred in, the hanger was open to visitors & had iirc 2 spits 1 p-51 & 1 corsair inside.

I think thats 1988 or 89, if my memory serves me well.

I think you’ll also find that the Dutch Spitfire MK732 spent time there in 1997 (at least) as G-HVDM and was associated with the current operator of TA805. He looked a bit younger then 😀

WoGB aircraft I saw there were SM969, NH238, PL983 and TE356 all flying and TE392 and Seafire PP972 in store. Great fun trying to get a look into that Hangar 😉

The one time I went to a Biggin Hill Air Fair the Spitfire hangar was open and you could go in and see the assorted fuselages in store. Probably 1985 or 86.

I can think of at least 3 that I saw operate/based from there occasionally.

All with Doug Arnold or with other operators?.
