Shortly after WW2 the UK GPO (now Royal Mail) is believed to have experimented with mail flights using helicopters. One of the sites they are thought to have used was Peterborough/Westwood. As a boy I remember seeing helis operate from there for a short while but never knew why. Does anyone know?
