This spade grip just sold on ebay.
I must admit I was thrown by it, it has no visible AH number, but the seller said it was a Dunlop Patent Grip, however the gun button was electrical, and the back had a strange hole in it possibly for the wiring. It did have attachments for a Brake lever, as British aircraft had pneumatic buttons, I thought was it a modified early grip, Canadian Hurricane used perhaps ???

Check out the one in our collection, we also have the bottom section including the ball joint to make a complete stick, it can be seen on display at the museum.

Permision to hijack thread:( .
I am stunned by the value of a spade grip, a beautifull piece of history that I would love to own but sadly my wallet doesn’t agree
I would like to know the aproximate value of my stick top, I got it a few years ago and mounted it on a stand, the cables are housed within the base of the stand and all the switches work perfectly.

No prizes for guessing what it came from:D :diablo: .
Regards,
John.

That’s a fair price for a Dunlop grip :p

I mean, when it would have an AH number or the brake lever, Iยดd understand that price. Seems Iยดd need a safe for my beauty ๐ .
Cheers,
Herbert

expensive, but Dunlop Patent grips are very rare indeed, cheap I would say,
I have been reliably informed by an expert it was from a Boulton Paul Defiant, thats sure one you don’t see everyday !! or probably will again, well you live and learn ๐
