The Gamecock looks near complete – mainly work on the cabane to take the top wings, engine and covering? It’s going to look magnificent when it’s finished. I didn’t ask when that might be – any idea Bamel?
Roger Smith.
The team that have been working on the Gamecock are quite elderly gentlemen and have been beset with ill health recently,so now the E28/39 is complete that team will transfer their attentions to the Gamecock,…..the next 12 months should see a big difference,….

I visited the Jet Age open day today – though finding it wasn’t easy.
I was very impressed with both the E28/39 and Gamecock replicas.
The former is standing on it’s undercarraige looking for all the World as if it’s just arrived from South Kensington – and there were steps to be able to view the cockpit.

Can you confirm that this is the same replica that was on display at the ‘100 Years of Flight’ exhibition at RIAT Fairford a few years ago ( painted all silver??) and that you are not negotiating with the Science Museum to extract the original from South Kensington??
Ahh…..so the secret is out,and a gap has been spotted at the Science Museum !…..i guess we are going to have to paint it silver a bit quick;)

Am I right in assuming you are taking the Gloster E28/39 to Kemble for the Air Day on 17th June?
