Biltema’s P-51 N405HC made its first display in Vesterås, Sweden on Saturday. Maiden flight was on Thursday, and thankfully the a/c was ready for the show two days later. A big thumbs up to all the people who made that possible!

Hi Daniel
Stunning A-A shot. I’ll be over in Sweden this Summer so would be interested to know where the Mustang is based and whether any details have been released of proposed airshow appearances in Sweden – any gen available?

I wouldn’t hope too much for an appearance at FL, at least not this year. Biltema’s business is in Scandinavia so this is primarily where the Mustang will be displayed. Furthermore it can’t carry drop tanks in the current mode so longer flights will require a lot of logistics. I would hope more for the Spitfire if I were you… 😉

be nice to see the cav mustang in the lineup at legends with 6 or 7 mustangs to see the difference.

Tasty air-air shot Daniel, thank you for putting it up. 🙂 It’s great to see some warbird ‘growth’ in Scandenavia, here’s hoping there’ll perhaps be even a few more additions to the scene in due course?
Does anyone know whether the new owners of these two (Mustang and the Spit XVI) plan to display them in Europe or the UK?

Enjoy, first air-to-air over Sweden.

Reminds me of the first Mustang I saw close up which was the OFMC aircraft in Empire of the Sun colours as Missy Wong from Hong Kong.

…or, as this probably is the last military Cavalier Mustang II around in flying condition, restore it in the c/s of the El Salvador AF (FAS) of the soccer war of 1969.

FAS404 and FAS405 (now N405HC) in flight over Florida prior to delivery in 1968.
The Cavalier-rebuilt Mustangs of the El Salvador AF wore the USAF-style SEA-camouflage, applied already at the Cavalier factory at Sarasota, Florida.

I think that the Cavalier tail looks really awful. Is it possible to convert it to a normal P-51 tail without a major rebuild?
Disagree on the first, no biggie on the second. Convert it, why…?:( What we need now is to convince Bertil and the boys to put it up in civilian colors to promote Biltema. A Cavalier in civvies to show off the 51s civilian history would be great.

Interesting news. What´s the serial number?
BTW, doesn´t the fin look too tall?
Yes, the plane’s got the taller Cavalier tail.

A Cavalier Mustang perhaps? They have the extended fin,
as seem on Ormond Haydon-Ballie’s I-BILL.
