Hello
Please can any body help with the history of this plane.
It this in the book Aviation in Leicestershire and Rutland page 185.
Its caption says its 43-27774 and its reputed to have been the 1000
aircraft to receive attention by the CRO ( civllian repair organisation )
of Reid and Sigrist .
Any help please .

Here is what I found on a quick search
27774 for period 1945/47 (at least) based in Italy and used as
VIP transport by RAF Mediterranean/Middle East Communications Sqn (still
with USAAF identity).
found at this USAF, USAAC, USAAS, USAAF serial # serch site, first time I’ve used this site, so I have no idea of the accuracy, but they have lots of data collected.
