Hi Vicky Ten
Ok I didn’t have time to hang around and wait for them to respray it, after two hours of just ZA947 beating the airfield up I gave in:rolleyes:  at least the weather was on their side for most of the month.
I was rather busy sorting out a book on another RAF Aeroplane, which has Lincolnshire connections…..
But thats another story…..:diablo:

Would be nice if they could get the correct weaponry on the underwing hard points.

No need to ponder, she has indeed been repainted, they were trawling for volunteers at Waddington recently.
If you look at this picture http://www.air-scene-uk.com/oldstuff/2007/431blackbuck/xm607.htm you will see an earlier attempt where the original serial is still visible behind the new one, this has been sorted now.
The underside shows quite clearley how she has been resprayed as before the dark grey was starting to get a bit thin!!

I sat watching them cleaning it on the 11th of April while nothing but the BBMF Dakota was bashing the circuit, I don’t think they had time to repaint it?
Looked more like a new coat of varnish or something?
One to ponder on?
