The Comox Air Force Museum’s Y2-K Spitfire project will be hosting it’s 7th Annual Open House on Sunday May 20 from noon-4 pm. 10 RCAF and RAF Spitfire veterans will be attending and a list of those veterans is available at the website. on the Open House link http://www.y2kspitfire.com
The Mk IX Spitfire TE 294 is making slow but steady progress, now in it’s 7th year of restoration this 442 RCAF Squadron will be restored to an airworthy condition and will honour the nearly 18,000 Canadians that were killed in RCAF/RAF Servive during the Second World War. The Spitfire project has been described as Canada’s most significant aviation project and over the past 7 years has attracted more then 32,000 visitors. The project hangar is open most Saturdays for viewing. If your planning a trip to Vancouver Island this summer be sure and drop in and meet our restoration team and inspect this wonderful project.

7 years already! Seems like last week when Mark and I unpacked it when it arrived in Vancouver from South Africa! The progress on TE294 has been remarkable and I’m looking forward to seeing her finished.
Keep up the good work.

Looks like the project is coming along well. One day I’ll make it to Vancouver and visit the museum.
Keep up the good work – can’t wait to see her fly!
Best wishes from Biggin Hill
