Tigercat

For all those who thought that “Legends 06” would be the last time they would see the Tigercat fly, well me anyway!

Friday the 4th of May, a lovely day!

Hello
A link below to the Tigercat story so far on TFC web site.

http://fighter-collection.com/pages.php

The Tigercat was very agile for such a large twin-engined piston fighter! To bad it didn’t come earlier in the War……….The Bearcat is also another interesting type that came out in the closing months……..of course that’s another story.:D

I grew up about a hour away from a Museum (Air Zoo Kalamazoo, Michigan USA)that regularly flew a Tigercat. I believe it still does……….beautiful aircraft and often overlooked.:(

IIRC it was said on a recent thread she’s due to leave on the 14th of May.

🙂 I know many of the pilots don’t own or operate their own aeroplanes so i wonder how they feel when a “favourite ” steed is going to be put up for sale and whether they have any inputs about it being sold.

Answer to Q1: Usually completely gutted. Answer to Q2: If they do not own the aircraft or a share in it they would not normally have much an input.

Well she was still there on Saturday, but the mainenatnce on her seems to have increased as she sat for a number of months in hangar 2 with her wings folded, so maybe she is leaving soon ?

But not before legends i hope as she is always a great performer.

Any news as to when the Tigercat is leaving and where it is going? I’m planning a visit to duxford at the end of may and was hoping to see it then.

Nice picture Eric, had the pleasure of watching her flying around the local area on Friday while working. It’s a shame she’s going she will be missed.

All the best,

Dave
