Just got home from the first OW display of the season, up to the usual standards of civility and relaxed, close-up viewing.
It was the inagural display by the re-named Guinot wing-walker team (nee Utterly Butterly) and were joined by one of the Blue Peter presenters on the third aircraft! She looked a little fresh-faced and relieved at the end!

Odd effect with my daughter’s camera:

Nope, didn’t miss it as I e.mailed the BBC to ask when it was being televised and they actually gave me the date! A good 10 minutes of coverage there.

Eh? I never saw any Stearmans! 😀

Feeling old now as I remember Carol Keeting doing the same at Cranfield with the Barnstormers many years ago…
Shame those suits weren’t used then.
By: The Blue Max - 10th May 2007 at 23:04
Look like they are still using the same silver suit that “Blue Peter” presenter Sarah Green used at Sywell in 1983:eek:

The Guinot Girls
Well, it’s obvious that any tenuous aviation link is enough to get your pulses racing, so perhaps I should share the rest of the “Team Guinot” girls with you.
I was invited to their Press Day and wingwalker selection day, which did my blood pressure no good being surrounded by all these lovelies…oh, er, and three newly-painted Stearmans (had to add that in, to keep it relevant:diablo: ). These are the eleven finalists from about 300 applicants and here are the two selected to join the team when they operate a 4-ship.

No, I must set Sky+ to series record so we can catch it. There were 2 normal cameras on the ground, and 2 on the aircraft, one directly in front and one on the wing looking sideways, so there should be some good footage, hopefully!:)
Glad you guys have enjoyed the pictures, I will pick up the 2 x 35mm films tonight and if there are any more good ones, I will scan and post….
There will probably be more comments from my good wife about the ratio of wings to buttocks….:o
There was another camera just in front of the tail fin too, taped to the top fuse looking towards the young ladys rear………….
I asked a camera guy, he suggested on air around 30/31st May

What a bunch of sad old pervs you truly are, a good excuse for an aviation thread this is, not. My missus is dying to do the wing walk thing, but I keep telling her that she will dangerously affect the air flow over the a/c, please don’t read this love, I want to wake up in the morning without serious damage.
Also, please don’t mention Station Officer Harvey in front of my father in law, or Moggy for that matter.

We need to start a campaign for more saucy girls posing with aircraft, I reckon! How about a 40’s-look, Susannah York Memorial Team of lovelies, posing in their WAAF tunics and suspendies with Spits etc!
And whatever happened to those ‘Pilot’s Pals’ calendars you always used to see advertised in FP?
Lech mode off! :p

Does anyone know when this will be transmitted on Blue Peter?
By: adrian_gray - 10th May 2007 at 10:50
From the rest of the thread, they produce enough slack-jawed dribbling as it is without doing anything more!

Nice bum shots and all, but you know, I’ve always thought that the potential sexiness of the girls has never been particularly exploited. Okay so they can hardly fly around in their bras, but these candid ‘nice bum’ shots aside, do they ever deliberately pose in a more overtly sexy manner? And if not, why not?! :p 😀 😉
