Ground runs carried out. A few snags but they will be worked over the weekend. The plan is airtest and RTU Tuesday 24th as long as everything works out including the weather.
The photo shows part of the weighing process. The nose art was smudged by me. It doesn.t really look like that.
Working on a magneto problem. The cowling is the wrong colour. You can see the tape marking where the dark earth will be sprayed over the weekend.

Friday coming, 27th Apr. The BBC are doing a live broadcast from BBMF. It will probably be on the news throughout the day a bit like the last report they did on 474.
Oh right Thank you so like bbc news 24:confused: 😀

I’m not a nasty man, I’m a messiah, but a very naughty one at that!!
Lets hope the weather lasts out Tuesday to see her air tested, but if it don’t maybe Wednesday will be the day. Fingers crossed;)

“He may of had a nice shiney Beemer but he did say that my Beemer was also in good condition so their!!!”
Part of thier training. How to get on the good side of the nasty law breaking so and so. Ie flatter thier ego and befriend them. 😉
Anyway most dissapointing that we waited so long to see PA474 and only got to see an ATP and F-27 (Mmmmm Darts) run their engines.

Yes I agree its important advice Rob is offering and well worth him posting twice to make sure the advice is heeded by the potential law breakers amongst us :p
Anyway Rob, I dont think the nasty looks you gave the officer was all about the licence problem (which was later resolved).
I also think you were a little jealous that the nice officer had a shinier faster BM wubbleyou than you do 😉
Seriously though mate at one point I was thinking we were going to be making our way back by foot.

Great seeing her yesterday running up!
Kept a watchful eye out today for her only to see her towed back into the hanger. Even worse, while on rock farm road a traffic police officer decided to check out my car. Luckily all was ok but for a minute thought I was gonna get my car impounded!!
Bit of advise. If you move house, remember to get you Drivers License updated to your new address, it saves a load of hassel and time…..:D

FM213 is down for winter maintenece simliar to PA474 but not as in depth. She has had a rebuilt engine fitted in number 1 position and some heavy work on number 2 and I think the ailerons were off also.
Jackattack
Can you pm me re the gennie with pic and part numbers might have a line on a couple?
Generator fixed so she is ready for inspection tomorrow. If she passes that, she gets a Flight Authorisation Certificate and will be ready for airtest. Unfortunately, the weather looks poor for Tuesday so it will more than likely be Wednesday.

Ahh technollogy. What you need Lancman is Firefox browser. Many of the plug ins make it possible to search media files on pages and download them onto your Pc.Especially good with Youtube etc.Buuut I didn,t tell you this..In fact I am not here. This is a figment of your imagination..;)

May I congratulate all on a fantastic job.
To see the aircraft with all four turning and burning is a fab sight.
We were hopeing to see the aircraft down in the Islands a least once this year, but it looks like we will not be seeing her at all this year (very sad) but never mind well done to all and we look forward to all this years reports of seeing her around the country.

Watched some of the engine runs and flap tests this afternoon from the airport perimeter she looked (from a distance) and sounded stunning.
Is she running again tom at all?
Unfortunately yes, she will be running again tomorrow. A generator failed today and she needs a few more engine adjutments. Luckily BBMF have a genny in stock so that should be on its way to Coventry. Ground runs are needed to test them out. I would think late morning to midday if all goes well.

Is FM213 grounded for some reason then?
Routine maintenance I would expect. They asked me for some mainwheel tyres a couple of months ago as they have run out so we (disposals) are selling them 4 (not my idea, MoD policy to protect the taxpayers money).
By: Bluebird Mike - 21st April 2007 at 20:40
Looks like it all went very well for sure! Soon the world will have one airworthy lanc again until FM213 takes wing again.

Its not painted over I believe it is covered with black fablon
It is the painters masking fablon painted over with the temporary paint. I am assured by Sprayavia the artwork paint wont come off. The artwork is very good. The one in the office was a quick demo and not representative of the original. John the artist has used his talents on a scooter belong to Noel Gallacher from Oasis if you want some trivia. He painted the A to Z of London front cover on it. Jerry the Sprayavia supervisor thought the finished Phantom looked like John without hair.
