I’ve rediscovered in my attic a small 1996 pamphlet (in English and Russian) produced by the Moscow Khodynka Field museum people entitled ‘British Royal Air Force in Russia’ dealing with RAF activities around Murmansk.
Has anybody else come across this?
There are some photographs in it but they are photocopies of originals from Russian state archives.
It mentions that six damaged Lancasters were handed over to the Soviet Union and that two of them were restored for use in transport and reconnaissance.
