AGS union nuts

The outer sleeve nut shown also needs a collett that sits between the sleeve and the flaired tube end, without seeing the fuel **** you may also need a nipple.

AGS were used on Sea Hawk, Hunter, Harrier 1’s

I’ve had a quick look but cannot find any AGS904 Union Nuts. I have a few to pattern AGS1187, but I don’t think these are right for your project.

If it’s definitely a 1″ pipe bore, it’s AGS904/H you’re looking for.

I rang LAS last week but the bloke was away…

It’d also probably help if you measured the pipe diameter, as many AGS fittings are identified by their O/D (Outer Diameter)

This may help with the threadform and size you are looking for. LAS (Light Aero) are very good for this sort of thing

I’ll have a root around in the shed for something that fits!

My knowledge of BSP sizes and threads is minimal, and that’s exaggerating, but IIRC, they’re specified by the bore, not the thread size.

1.3″ over the threads would suggest something like a 1″ bore so 1″ BSP sounds a good starting point.

Says 1″ BSP is 1.309″ major (over the tops of the threads) diameter.

Are you sure that these will be AGS items, or are they categorised seperately under, say, 27F Stores Ref.?

Material is alloy – I found several Whitley fuel c ocks at a site recently – it would be nice to find the correct fixings.

Yes, i would have thought it was a BSP thread, but having measured it, it seems to be a bit over 1.25″, although the threads have not been cleaned yet.

All the ones I have seen are brass.

Presumably a BSP thread, in which case it would be more like 1 1/4″ or 1 1/2″. Any idea what material, brass, steel or alloy?
