…….., plus the Dove in the AirSpace building….

Martyn,
Thank you very much for that Dove picture. I actually flew that aircraft several times in 1970 during an Approach Radar Course at the College of Air Traffic Control at Bournemouth/Hurn Airport.

Why the “VP” registration on the Dash-7?
I guess VP-F as an International Aircraft Registration Prefix for the Falkland Islands was chosen out of economical reasons.

No sorry, Martyn, G-BSJU wasn’t one of the light aircraft which I photographed.
Yes, Magdrop, there was a Chipmunk outside yesterday, but no Dragon Rapide.

…and if you look closely under the tail of the Dash 7 in cessna152towser’s picture is that not a Chipmunk down in area 51?
Another of De Havilland’s finest.

Your photos are excellent, Martyn, what were you flying yesterday, as I may also have a photo of your aircraft?
Thanks for the comments – I was there between about 15:00 and 17:30 in nothing more exotic than Cessna 150 G-BSJU, parking in front of the tower…..

Saw the Dash 7 when I flew into Fowlmere, wondered what it was doing there, thanks!

I’m headed for an afternoon at Duxford tomorrow (via Easyjet Newcastle to Stanstred); won’t promise any pics; it will depend where they are parked in relation to the public areas and on the lighting conditions.

Finest?
Does a Dash 7 come into the catergorie of De Havillands finest?
here are a good number of the finest missing to name but a few.
The DH104 Dove one or two at Coventry?
The Heron G-AORG at Coventry on check or almost not many if any other flying in the world.
We could find one or two more but like the Dove and Heron they were used for commercial operations.
Hopefully we will be able to see them for a number of years to come we hope>

Dash 7
Correct. Pitched up Saturday. At Duxford for a month or so for crew training before returning to Calgary, according to the crew.
