Flying Flea

I am trying to gather some information about a flying flea built in St
Helens, Lancashire, UK by a pair of gentlemen called Birchall and
Broughton. Apparently the flea was built in Broughtons Motor Garage.
Although it was not believed to have been registered it was reported to
have flown from a farm in Burtonwood circa 1936.

Ken Ellis, editor of British Homebuilt Aircraft reproduced a photo of the flea in his book although it is rather poor.

Unfortunatly no constructor number is known.

Would anyone have any further information?
