Tiger Moth Instrument panel construction

On behalf of a friend that doesnt visit the forums, Does anyone know the correct material used in wartime Tiger Moth pilots panels? My friend purchased one recently and was told it was original ww2 but it is made of 3/8inch plywood but looks to be very old?
Were the panels made of wood on Tiger moths or normal metal or bakelite?

I can’t remember for sure, but it is almost certainly either 3/16 ply doubled up behind some instruments or 3/8″ ply.

This is a reasonably original panel (two new broomheads, three new handles) attached to G-ANFM.

Can’t remember the thickness of the panel off-hand, but all the ones I’ve seen have been plywood.

It’s also worth mentioning that almost everyone has been modified to allow installation of extra/different guages, etc, so finding an original pattern example is quite difficult.
