David Livingstone – Fighter Ace

One of the two WWII NZ fighter aces who grew up in my town, Cambridge, was David Livingstone.

I have a profile for him on my website here:
http://www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/David%20Livingstone.htm

But I haven’t really been able to find out much about him other than what is on my website. I wondered if anyone might have any information that adds more to the story?

He originally flew P-40’s with the famous No. 112 Squadron. Does anyone know if he had a personal aircraft? Did all that sqn’s P-40’s wear the shark’s mouth?

Any info on his other service life as well would be appreciated.

One interesting fact I worked out, he was the same age as Cambridge’s other WWII ace, Edward ‘Bill’ Wells, and they attended the same schools. They would have been in the same school class and known each other. I wonder if any two other aces had such a connection in early life?
