Rapide G-AGSH

Does anybody know if the Rapide ‘GSH is still in the museum at Bournemouth? I tried phoning but they close at 1500 and I missed them. Thanks in advance.

G-AGSH is actually owned by Philip Meeson, but is on loan to the Bournemouth Aviation Museum in return for hangarage. It attends several UK aviation events during the year and will probably be at Woburn in August.

To the best of my knowledge it attended just one event last year.

It has not moved this year and is in the hangar at Bournemouth.

Was she not the one that retired to the museum after the Buck House flypast, she took off from Duxford formated with four other Rapides, flew over Buck House before flying on to Bournmouth to retire?

G-AGSH

I remember in the mid seventies an aviation group buying this aircraft and alost rebuilding it.

This aircraft has a lot of connections with Jersey not only in the Mid seventies also when it was one of the B.E.A. fleet operating the Lands End Scilly run and going to Jersey for its checks once in a while.

Nice to see this old girl looking great hope to meet up with her shortly.

It was still there in the Bournemouth Aviation Museum hangar about two weeks ago. I don’t think it has flown for some time but G-INFO still gives the CoA current until Sep 2007.

Thanks John. That was the site that gave me the number to call but unfortunately I was too late today. It still gives it as being there so I’ll try again tomorrow.

You could look here:- http://www.aviation-museum.co.uk/

I was there last year and I seem to remember seeing it. Haven’t got access to my photos at present so can’t check.

Hope this helps,

John
