Of course you’re right. Always get those two confused. 😮

I’m certain it wasn’t G-DAKS as this was still in service as “Mayfly”/TS423 with its long nose. “Air Intra” is the name ringing bells in my memory and I believe Mike Woodley was flying with them at the time. Taking the Dak out of commercial service for “sitting around film work” is what prompted him to acquire a Dak for this sort of work and set up Aces High I seem to remember.

There was in Eye of the Needle… the Flixton chopper is owned by Sloanes of Sywell and starred in that movie….

The Westland Widgeon is at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum in Flixton.

Historically, it’s not too far out of time. It’s based on the wartime S-51/H-5/Dragonfly…but with a later Westland-designed front fuselage.

I used to have a 1977 edition of “Photoplay” which had a feature on the making of the film. The article said that the Dakota used was loaned by an air cargo firm based in Jersey and was returned to them after filming concluded.
I don’t have any more details.
