I’m rather chuffed and tickled to announce that Bristol Britannia G-ANCF (Charlie Fox) will finally be leaving her current home at Kemble and heading up to Speke in Liverpool next wednesday.
Several wagon loads containing support gear and the control surfaces have already made the trip up over the last month or so.
More news/pics/film as it happens at http://jetstream-club.org
This is an absolutely huge and expensive project for a small group like us, so if you’ve got spare change or a few quid in your paypal account – you can pass it to us via our web site and it’ll all help Charlie Fox look pretty again in her Eagle colours.
Thank you!
Roy Coates,
Chairman – Jetstream Club.

Britannia Charlie Fox Restoration
Just to report that work continues on CF. All last week our professional riveters worked extremely hard on the rear strap and we are pleased to announce that the this job is now completed with the exception of some sealing.
The flight deck has been disassembled to allow for repair and sealing. The navigators instrument panel has been renewed and fitted. We are planning to have the flight deck looking good as a memorial to our late chief engineer Mick Bates. As soon as funds allow we will complete the front strap. The undercarriage will possible be sent away for checking and repair. Any donation towards these two remaining projects (to enable wheels on this year) would be very much appreciated.
Donations please contact britisheagleint@aol.com Many thanks.

Looking at the wing centre section – why is the roof section of the fuselage missing in this area? Has that made it easier to dismantle, or? Just interested….!
The roof section is there, just not attached! It was an odd construction order with the Brit, wing->centre-root->front fuse->rear fuse. which is, I’m told, the order in which we’ll re-assemble here.
If you are looking for a source of quality paint stripper – that works, I can put you in touch with an excellent supplier. The stuff is completely biodegradable, takes all the paint off in one go, and much safer to use than the usual suspects.
Thanks Bruce – all info is very welcome. Can you PM me the details?
Thanks,
Roy.

Just a bit of work needed! 😉
Jon knows this because the silly fool signed his life away to the JSC and worked his socks off on Sunday getting the old paint off the tailplane.
Nice one Jon! Next time we’ll have to organise a _proper_ break for lunch.
We’ve had a lot of calls (and visits) from ex-Eagle guys who are absolutely delighted to see the old girl back at Speke. One chap has already donated a bunch of windy tools and boxes of rivets to the project. “You’ll need em more than I will!” he said.
More pics soon.
Roy.
