Ive heard that one of the Air Atlantique DC-6’s has a rather fetching bit of artwork on the inside of one of the passenger doors.
Is this true? and if so whats it of and anyone got pics?
Cant wait to see one of these girls back in the air during 2007.

I think SIXC had the internal ‘door art’ at some stage, presumably long gone…

I must apologise, after having a taxi ride in G-SIXC yesterday, I realiised that there is no nose art on her crew door. So ‘PSA is the only one with any art work.
Sorry if I misled anyone.:o
Alan.
Ps,Here is a link to Jan Hermkens web site, he scratch built a scale RC model of the original P61 ‘ Lady in the dark’ and all the details are here along with some original pictures of the aircraft and crew.

DAK promoter.
As they say in the old days bring back the DAK, now is the time to add bring back the Six and it is not a six pack but big brother to the DAK.
Good luck to the new project look forward to the 2007 season.

Hi Olympus,
Yes that is correct.
G-APSA has a rendition of the ‘Lady in the dark’ painted on the inside of the cockpit door, this was the name of a Northop P61 ,that was credited with the last Japanese aircraft to be shot down in WW2.
I am not sure who by and when it was painted. But we think it was done because the DC 6 is powered by the same engines as the P61.
G-SIXC has memphis Belle painted on her crew door.
I wrote a piece about it for the Classic Flight magazine.
If you contact the Classic Flight office, I am sure they will send you a copy.
I am not sure where my pictures of it are, if I find them I will pm you.
Cheers, Alan
