Lincoln Imp and the Lancaster

Hi all,

I have a little question, and its driving me mad. Some years ago I came across a book which had several aviation related short stories in it, one of which was about the Lincoln Imp and a Lancaster.

So the story went he (the Imp) felt sorry for the Lancaster on the gate at Scampton (Just Jane? she was sorry looking enough), and took it and Sugar from Hendon on one last run over Germany.

I would dearly like to find this book again. If anyone has read, it, got it, or can remeber the author or title, please, tell me!!! It’s driving me up the wall.
