Canberra E.15 (WH964)

While looking up another aircraft on the UK Serials website, I came across this aircraft detailed to be preserved in Chailey, East SUssex.

“SH1689 WH964 Canberra E15 To 8870M, ex Cosford, Bruntingthorpe. Pres. Chailey, East Sussex”

Does anyone know what the current state of this aircraft is?

Richard

I have never seen an actual log of it at Southampton museum, so I doubt it is there. Any more info on the location and/or owner is still very welcome….

Can you send some directions to that as I believe it went straight from Bruntingthorpe to East Sussex.

No it isn’t! Source is a reputable aviation database, which showed it at Southampton Hall of Aviation (Solent Sky).

The source is probably page 142 of Wrecks and Relics edition 16 which describes it as having left on the 25/11/96 for a ‘collector’ in the Southampton area.

My source showed it at Southampton in November 1996. No idea if it’s still there.

Neither had I so far, apart from the message of flyingant. So any confirmation or info on the current whereabouts is very welcome!

Is it at Southampton now? A recent addition to their collection?

Looking through my logs I see that WH964 took part in a formation flypast at Farnborough 1958 when it was with 12 Squadron.

It belongs to a private owner. It used at his local ATC unit but it’s been on his property for a while now. I will try and recall his name .

It’s been some time since this request was posted, but did the location of this nose section ever become known? I am planning a short trip to the UK later this month, and will be in the area…..
Many thanks in advance!

WH964

Does anyone know what the current state of this aircraft is?

I too would be interested in the state/location/pics of this E.15.

Here’s a Michael Hall picture of it at an undisclosed airshow when it was on 98 Sqn. Pic is pre-27 Jan 1982 which is the date of its last flight.
