Nocturne at the Antwerp Stame Center

Saturday 3th February we are organising a Nocturne in the Stampe museum at Antwer Airport.

This evening we started to place all the spots and I took the opportunity to make some pictures.

1. OO-BPL in the colours of the Stampe in which Donnet escaped to England.
2. The V-1 (recently we discovered all the internal parts are still in place!)
3. Nieuport Ni.28 N128CX
4. The Fokker D.VII N903AC that we are restoring in the colours of O-BOBE (which was part of Mr.Stampe flying school)
5. New Ranger engine in the Albatros D.Va (N986RS), we are still trying to work out all the problems.
6. The Sopwith Camel N2257J in the colours of Jan Olieslagers
7. DC.3 model (with the engines running)
8. OO-GWD painted in the colours of Les Manchots (we are working on the engine)

It will certainly be worth the visit, there will be guided tours with comments of real experts.

I might hop in for a visit. Visited last year. Great museum and talked a bit to Mr Cabooter about the Spit. I really need to get there the next Stampe meet. Never been able to go 🙁

The Stampe will always remain a close ‘friend’ to me, as was the first open cockpit biplane that I have the had the chance of flying in. Having had the chance to fly in the Stearman (men), Tiger Moth and Jungmann since, you always remember your first time, dont you?:)
