RAF Millom
Please accept my apologies for drifting off the topic slightly,
A couple of years ago I dropped a couple of Instruments Dials from a WWII Spifire or Hurricane as a donation to the museum. My parents live in Haverigg and I was visiting at the time
Could you tell me if they were ever used ina display
Kind Regards
Mark Winterbourne

RAF Millom Expansion
It was announced yesterday that the RAF Millom museum is to take a lease on the former HMS Macaw site and its remaining buildings (a former RN Air Station – non flying) nearby to the existing museum. The site will be initially dedicated to the Fleet Air Arm, Fleet & Royal marines along with Army and Military Vehicles. There will also be a Home front display including two prefab bungalows.
It is hoped to have a limited opening from Easter weekend at this site and fully open in 12 months.
A third site is also being currently being discussed to act as a restoration/storage facility centre for the many aircraft and vehicles etc we currently have in storage throughout the North West.

Not heard much on the planned museum at Walney for quite sometime, all i know is that they had been given a Tornado GR1 and a Hawker Hunter and that land adjacent to the airfield had been earmarked for use.

The museum will not be moving to Morecombe, not only will it be staying put we are very close to anouncing the expansion plans based around the existing location and at an additional nearby site.

Will have to pop down and take some pics when we get some decent weather. Just wondering if the move to Morecambe will still happen or will the museum be staying put?
