Have look at the website of this company which specializes in aviation DVD’s. There are a lot of short preview clips available. One I myself found particularly interesting was the one which shows the prototype HP Herald powered by four Alvis Leonides Major engines. I only had seen it on photographs, and this is the first time I saw (and heard) it fly by in its original design with the piston engines.

I found this link, by the way, through the guestbook of the newly launched website of Propliner Magazine, http://www.propliner.org.uk/ . Still in its infancy, but who knows what the future might bring.
Merry Christmas,
Tillerman.

This is the latest one we have just released, all with enhanced 8mm silent film and dubbed in authentic sounds of the real aircraft. Very hard to get this right, but the result is you would never know this was not a sound film!!

Finding anyone with 8mm cine film of aircraft taken during the ’50s and early ’60s is extremely hard. Usually, anyone that has such footage isn’t interested in aircraft and has it mixed up with family home and holiday movies stored away in the attic, so would not appreciate its value. If anyone out there has any 8mm, Super8 or even better 16mm cine film taken during the ’50s or ’60s, especially of airliners, don’t hide it away as it could make you money.
Send me a PM and we will check it out for you? Unfortunately, every day someone passes away and collection of film and photos get thrown away by those that inherit them, without realising their value to those that are interested. Don’t let this happen to your collections!

I have seen quite a few DVDs from this supplier, and they are all very well produced, with some great vintage footage

Merry Christmas,
Tillerman.
I was involved in the production of this DVD and this is official Handley Page footage in the only DVD available on the history of the Handley Page Herald.
Unfortunately, much of the footage is silent, so genuine Alvis Leonides and and RR Dart engine sounds had to be dubbed in. In the case of the Dart sounds, it is indeed another Herald that was recorded and not a Friendship or a Viscount, so it is very authentic.
You can get the DVD from here:

And a merry Christmas to one and all! Great site/sights and sounds and a Connie rescue! The football item looked deftinately out of place, but soon proved to be acceptable.
