I have been asked to try and discover the identities of two airframes that were dumped at Cambridge airport around 1970, one was a Hastings and the other a Vampire.
Any clues to their identities would be most welcome and any info about their history, even better!
Thanks in advance.

Cambridge airport(uk) has a few ghosts of it`s own.
I cant recall all the details, but i think one has something to do with ground running a vampire and a unfortunate member of the ground crew being killed.

IIRC the Vampire T.11 was going to be converted into the “Mystery Jet” executive aircraft. The conversion fell through and the airframe remained at Marshalls for several years before being passed to a preservation group. Can’t recall the serial.

(Would you believe I was in Las Vegas last weekend – I should have popped down to Henderson to see if it is still there!)
