Next year I’m getting a DVD recorder and I’ll be getting a lot of old aviation material put safely away onto shiny disc, which will include the wonderful series ‘Spitfire Ace’. In readiness for this, I’ve been making myself some DVD covers, (made one for a 6 disc case collection of BBMF documentaries today!) and I wish to make one for this series.
I’ve had a good hunt about, but can find little to no real imagrey from the series online; so, can anyone please help me out with some pics? I’ve got no end of superb general shots of ML407, so no probs there, but has anyone got any decent shots of ‘winning’ pilot Dave Mallon with the Spit? Or indeed, anything from the series at all that might be useful?

Re. the C4 website etc, as I said, I’ve already come up with next to nothing online. Hmmm, this one might have to wait until I’ve actually got it transfered, so I can take screen captures off the DVD itself. :rolleyes:

There is a book written to accompany the series , but all the photos are period, with nothing of the actual series.
The hardback version (which was published in December ’03) I’m sure has modern pictures in it. Not sure where my copy of it is at the mo, though! :rolleyes:

Maybe try the Channel Four webiste …since they originated the program and may have links to the series production company that did the documentary. Its now one of my favorites and glad it was shown here in the USA. Not sure if it has ever been released for sale yet ? Super series indeed !
