Does make you wonder why they are buying Russian helicopters for Afghanistan when useful types are being retired to AMARC.

IIRC, it has something to do with types previously operated in the area.Local experience on the type.
Besides, the Russianas make good helicopters…and they have to be less expensive than western types…:D
