Scooter,
I believe the “P-80 in Action” title from Sqn/Signal has a few photos of P-80 with the pilot’s WW2 scores marked on the tail. Drop us a p-m if you have difficulty finding a copy.

Thanks, I will………..:D

You need to get hold of a copy of the AAHS Historical Journal for Summer 2000, which contained an article “Jets! The 412th Fighter Group and Project Comet” by Gerald Asher.
This gives an account of the tour of the US in 1946 by former WWII aces in P-80s, which were appropriately marked up with their wartime scoreboards.
Thanks Mike! That picture of the P-80 is exactly what I was talking about…..unfortunately the picture is a little hard to make out but if you look closely you can just make out the kill markings on the tail……..I believe some had Air-to-Air Kills and somethings even ship kills or attack on ships. I wonder if anyone make decals for any of them. I would love to build a 1946 P-80 with those markings……..:D THANKS AGAIN

What types of kill markings are you referring to?
Swastikas or rising suns?
The only F-80’s I know of with kill markings would be the few that shot down MiG-15’s during the Korean War.
I remember Japanese kills but I believe they also included German kills too! It was my understand the several aces from the war flew a cross country tour showing off the P-80A. With the pilots displaying there kills on the tails of each aircraft……..every impressive!
