Who can tell me the correct name for the type of material from which the very front of the nose of the Chipmunk is made?
I confess to being too lazy to find out by any other means. 😮
I know basically what type of material it is, I just believe there is a proper name for it.

It is the fiberglass I was interested in. Someone suggested that this type had a particular name.
I’m just wondering now what the earliest use of fibreglass was in aviation. Is this a good contender?
Dead flies! Ruddy freeloaders! I find a spot of Auto Glym Super Resin Polish makes the removal of these joyriders far easier.

Do you mean
a) The Spinner – Aluminium
b) The propeller – still aluminium
c) The front lower cowl (could be fibreglass or Aluminium; early ones were Ali – L59, later ones were Fibreglass)
d) The front upper cowl – Aluminium again!
Or do you mean the dead flies you have accumulated on a really hot day!
